Diva Challenge (all the twos) #222

Colour, colour, colour. The Diva this week is asking for colour and she ends her post with the words Happy Pride Week. That meant only one thing to me, my tangle had to imitate a Gay Pride Rainbow flag ! It is very applicable as here in Ireland we have just had a referendum regarding Gay Marriage and it was a landslide YES vote. The government these days often has trouble getting people to turn out and vote about political issues, but Gay Marriage was something that obviously mattered to people as the turnout was over 90% ! It wasn't just young people that voted yes either, older country folks were voting Yes too! It was a wonderful day and it is great to see times have changed. Happy Pride Week to you all from me too.

  10. I really like your tile and colours and appreciate your sentiments about gay marriage. I was so impressed by the response to your referendum in Ireland. Here in the US, we are anxiously awaiting a decision by our Supreme Court who will be ruling one whether individual states have the right to ban gay marriages or if such bans violate the Institution of the United States. I have no idea what they will do. The court is pretty evenly split---4 liberals, 4 conservative and one guy who ends up being the swing vote. His last name is "Kennedy", so I'm thinking he has some Irish blood. Maybe that's a good thing for this case. We'll see very soon.

  14. Now what is a Yorkshire Tortoise doing in Ireland....? I guess we get everywhere, though I personally am not a Tortoise. (Do you say 'tortoise' or do you say 'tortus'?) Anyway, I love your beautiful tile and was delighted with the results in Ireland. Axxx
