Splash

I have drawn a very quick and simple tile this week for The Diva's Challenge. I almost didn't do the challenge but then I remembered Anya Lowthorpe's Splash which just fits the reason why not.

We have been challenged to tangle a tile whilst in motion. Now my problem is I am very, very motion sick. There is no way I could look downwards in a car and tangle as The Diva did whilst on holiday. I have been like this since a child, and the first time I managed to go in a car without being sick was when I learnt to drive. Strange isn't it that I can drive without being sick. I have improved with age a little, I can now sit in the front passenger seat providing I look up and forwards but I am still hopeless in a bus. Strangely enough I never get sea sick, but I thought catching a ferry just to do The Diva's Challenge was taking things too far!

I was taking some photo's of our garden in the glorious sun this morning when I caught sight of our new garden seat which is a glider (a sort of rocking chair) and I thought that would do for motion.
I have drawn W2 using shaky lines to represent the motion (otherwise known as covering up the wonky line mistakes ;-). I also used Splash to represent what would happen if I travelled on a vehicle and really followed the challenge through properly.

  2. You have drawn your tile very well. For me also it is impossible to draw when I am moving. (I'm getting sick) I like to draw at home on my own table, in my own chair. That is why I'm not on the site this week.
By the way your sunny corner looks beautiful!

  3. Love this! You did very well for tangling when moving! I got kind of sick rocking in my chair.

  4. I love this tile! And to use your glider as the source of motion is a wonderful idea. Like Ria, I will be unable to participate this week. I'm the only driver in the family and I hurt my foot last week, so I can't walk far enough to get to public transportation. So I get to just look this week and see beautiful pictures like yours. Thank you for sharing!

  7. LOL. Splash. I would also get carsick if I tried to tangle in a moving car. Having to read a map is bad enough, but is sometimes unavoidable. I do get seasick although I can manage on a large stabilized cruise ship if it's not too rough. (In fact, some of the tiles I shared for the challenge were done on a cruise ship.) Clever idea to use the glider in your garden.

  10. This is a clever way to get motion into your challenge, and that gliding seat looks comforting and peaceful, art or no art. It turned out a real good tile, too. I like the jiggly edges of your W2 and that slash is perfect.

  13. This gave me a giggle! So sorry about the motion sickness - I used to be the same as a child but have grown out of it and now often tangle in the car...when I'm not driving, of course! Axxx

  14. Hi there, little Tortoise, haven't seen you on the Challenge for a while - been missing myself too - so , as I was using a new to me tangle this morning called Measle, I thought I'd just pop up to say hello. I hope your absence is because you are busy doing other things and that life is being good to you, Maggibee.
