Using cross-stitch patterns, coloring book pages, or stencils just turns the work into ZIA's (Zentangle Inspired Art). And, that's a nice extension of Zentangle. I add tangle patterns to my art journal pages and to my card making all the time. I love seeing how you used it for yours. The other two tiles are lovely as well!jeanchaneyazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12444143832714907759noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7615439901164697685.post-71028102927311749032015-08-25T14:26:57.206+01:002015-08-25T14:26:57.206+01:00I like the combination of the betweed in different...I like the combination of the betweed in different shapes. I'll pop over to take a look at your meditative Zentangles.(Yours truly totally punted on that part of the challenge. BTW, "punted" is a reference to American football where a team "punts" the ball away to the other team. Hopefully, the reference is then understandable in the context in which I use it.) Interestingly, when I spoke to my 90 year old mother today, she spontaneously brought up that she;d like to try embroidering one of my tangle tiles. AND, I did blackwork too and i suspect that is one of the reasons I took to Zentangle so quickly. I love your idea of using the cross stitch designs as templates and I think we could do it the other way round - draw a ZIA and then stitch it. As for the Challenge this week, I think your Betweed piece is really well done. Maggibeehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00830181455820843013noreply@blogger.com
